I use a variety of methods to help clients prevent and cope with suicidal thoughts and behaviors. These methods include crisis intervention, screening, education, and building a support network. There are many signs that an individual may be at risk for suicide. These signs may include changes in behavior, such as withdrawing from loved ones, increased use of drugs or alcohol, or talking about death or suicide. Other warning signs may include feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, or helplessness, and sudden mood swings or changes in personality.
